The ndalem that had been built in Hamengku Buwono VII’s era (1877-1921) formerly was occupied by GKR Dewi, the 38th daughter of Hamengku Buwono VII. This residence was used as a Literature Faculty of Gadjah Mada University up until the1960s when the University moved out to the Bulak Sumur area. The complex consists of 35 houses attached to one another and various other units that have been used for a Pharmacy High School and Apothecary School since 1960s. In 1987 the secretariat of PORDASI (Indonesian Horsing Club) settled here. It is currently occupied by GBPH Yudoningrat, the 13th son of Hamengku Buwono IX who was delivered by KRAy Hastungkoro. Additionally, the residence is frequently used for wedding parties and other special occasions. On the veranda there are eight horse carts available for hire.
